Stanford Lets Doctoral Students Submit Dissertations Online
Stanford is making the move to help doctoral students reach a broader audience. Too often finished dissertations find their way onto a dusty, ole, crowded shelf. One professor I spoke with guesses only three people ever read his dissertation: his adviser and his mom and dad. Searchable, digitized dissertations should certainly gain more traction than the traditional model.
Why you shouldn’t use email for revisions
Here’s an interesting post from Professor Hacker demonstrating the flaws of using email as a tactic for group revisions. As a student who does a lot of collaborative projects, I would certainly have to agree with their conclusion.
